A national network built on a decade of accumulated experience, standing under local governance while remaining structurally connected to Start Network's global network.
A network within a network
The Hub's logo tells this story: Start Network's circular ring with the outline of Bangladesh inside it.
The ring retains Start Network’s circular motif, signalling the Hub’s identity as part of a global network of networks. The map of Bangladesh sits inside it, grounding the mark in place and ownership.
That relationship is practical as well as symbolic. Some funding decisions — particularly under Disaster Risk Financing and Start Ready — are made collectively through Start Network with representatives from different countries, because the risk being pooled is global. Others are entirely national. Knowing which is which is part of what governance transparency means here.

Pooled funds at scale
Start Fund and Start Ready pool risk and capital across many countries, which is what makes pre-positioned money viable for a single national network.

Peer learning across hubs
Other national hubs face the same problems in different contexts. Evidence and method travel between them faster than through formal channels.

National governance, retained
Decisions about Bangladesh are made in Bangladesh. Global structures pool the resource; they do not allocate inside the country.

Shifting the wider humanitarian system requires more voice than one national network has on its own.
